Peak season:
Like all of the Canary Islands, Fuerteventura is hot almost all-year round. It gets over 3000 hours of sunshine each year, whereas the UK gets less than 1000. That said the busiest time to book flights to Fuerteventura would be from June to August as schools break up for holidays and the peak of Summer kicks in. July and August can be incredibly hot though so if you don’t deal with heat too well you’d be better off visiting in Spring or Autumn. The weather is still very pleasant but with a lot less tourists.
Off season:
There isn’t much of an off season but you’ll find the cheapest flights to Fuerteventura from January to March. There is a week in late October where it rains practically non-stop all day so even though you might find cheap flights to Fuerteventura then, you’ll more than likely be stuck indoors for most or all of your holiday.

If weather is an important factor for your trip to Fuerteventura, use this chart to help with planning. For those seeking warmer temperatures, July is the ideal time of year to visit, when temperatures reach an average of 23.0 C. Travellers hoping to avoid the cold should look outside of January, when temperatures are typically at their lowest (around 16.0 C).
Make sure you secure your flight tickets at least 2 or 3 months in advance to have a chance of finding cheap flights to Fuerteventura. You’ll find that early Spring generally has some great deals on flight tickets so by pre-planning you could save even more. If you want a family holiday during the Summer then you’ll need to book your flights to Fuerteventura as early as you can as the price of flight tickets is very expensive during school holidays. Being flexible with your dates gives you the freedom to pick and choose the cheapest flights to Fuerteventura. Don’t worry too much about which side of the plane to sit on as both gives you stunning views of the island as you approach, just try to avoid sitting directly next to a wing.

On the same latitude as Florida and only 100km (60 miles) off the coast of Africa, Fuerteventura is less popular than the other Canary Islands, but is seeing increasing traffic from UK holidaymakers and day-trippers from Lanzarote and Gran Canaria.
Fuerteventura Airport is situated 5km (3 miles) from the capital Puerto del Rosario and only ten minutes’ drive from the resort of Caleta de Fuste. Though small, the airport is clean and modern and the only steady complaints are the inflated prices of the shops and restaurants. Also, queues can move slowly in peak season.
Serving more than four million passengers per year, there are flights to Fuerteventura Airport from many cities in Europe. While some only operate in peak summer tourist seasons, there are plenty of options from cities such as London, Liverpool, Glasgow, Berlin, Brussels, Vienna, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Paris, Munich, Madrid, Tenerife, Milan and Zurich.
